A smile creeps in as I take your name,
A wild, beating heart, which knows no tame.
There’s so much more than just love here,
Peace, calm, joy, no sign of fear.
I take a moment to reflect,
Your flawlessness, complete with defect.
A random date, that’s how it started.
A right swipe and a match, based on abstract qualities, as charted.
Little did we know,
We lucked out and how!
Not just another catch,
An equal, a partner, a snatch!
A smile on your face,
Makes my world seem brighter,
To be with you,
I’d happily don the robe of a fighter.
The sight of those mild dimples,
Affirms my world is, just, oh-so-simple.
Words shared are never enough,
Staying apart seems incomprehensibly tough.
Just to be in your presence, is all I need,
Long changed is my definition of greed.
Things that previously mattered, are trivial now,
Maturity has crept in and how!
In no time,
you have settled in,
Well within my heart, my soul,
My breath even.
A piece of you, with me I seem to carry,
My safe space, an ever-present sanctuary.
How do I ever get you to understand,
My ex growth of feelings for you, were never planned.
I knew I had all that I could ever need,
Yet you came by and made me ‘feel complete’.
Days without you seem to have no color,
Like one to just stumble through, a mere filler.
Miles apart or minutes away,
Know now, I’m here to stay.
Looking beyond you just makes no sense.
